Mandatory Charge Points for Electric Vehicles in New Builds and Renovations
Charge points for electric vehicles will be required in new buildings from 2022. According to Reuters, Boris Johnson announced the plan on November 21st.
Now residential new builds, and commercial spaces such as offices and supermarkets, must include electrical charge points.
Perhaps even more importantly, large scale renovations that create 10 or more parking spaces will also need to include electrical charge points.
According to Reuters, this new government requirement comes as part of the Net Zero Strategy.
